EVALUATION

Scholarship of Teaching, Research & Creative Activity, and University & Public Service 

This section of the handbook contains the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Matrix and explanations regarding the utilization of the matrix that were approved by the Faculty Senate in Fall 2005 and the evaluation guidelines for United Academics faculty for Research and Creative Activity for tenure, promotion, and retention for UAS Tripartite faculty which became effective July 1, 2003. This procedure for evaluation of research and creative activity was formerly Appendix B in the Faculty Handbook. It is divided into 5 sections of definitions and criteria and 11 appendices listing unit values for publication and scholarship, activities not considered research and scholarship, and supplemental requirements for assessing specific faculty groups. The Faculty Service Matrix was approved by the Faculty Senate in Spring 2007.
