General Procedures

• Apply each academic year for financial aid. Application deadlines vary, so apply early.

• Determine if you are eligible.

• Determine how much financial aid do you need at our costs of attendance page.

• Make sure you have a government issued photo ID (needed for promissory notes for loans and picking up financial aid checks).

• Apply and be accepted for admission to a degree or certificate program at UAS. Apply online, email the Student Resource Center in the Novatney Building, or call 907-796-6457 (locally) or 1-877-465-4827 (toll-free). Your application for admission does not need to be complete for you to begin applying for financial aid. However, you must be admitted to actually receive your funds.

• Meet with your assigned academic advisor. To make an appointment on Juneau campus, email the Student Resource Center in the Novatney Building, or call 907-796-6457 (locally) or 1-877-465-4827 (toll-free).

• Register for classes by following the instructions in the semester class schedule (see the Juneau, Ketchikan or Sitka schedules).

• Make payment to Student Accounts/Business Services (907-796-6267) or check the status of your financial aid before the payment deadline.
