What if I haven't decided yet where or when I'll be going to school? Should I wait to apply?^
No. Applying for aid does not obligate you. When you decide which school you're going to attend, just let the Financial Aid Office there know of your intentions. Go ahead and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and include the school codes for each of the schools in which you are interested. The UAS school code is 001065.

Do I have to have my financial aid application finalized before I apply for admission to a degree or certificate program?^
No. In fact, it helps us determine your costs of attendance if we know the degree program to which you will apply. Because both the financial aid and admissions applications can be lengthy procedures, we recommend you submit both applications at about the same time so you will have time to gather the supporting materials you'll need for both.

.
Do I need to be completely admitted to a degree or certificate program before I apply for financial aid?^
No. You need to be completely admitted before federal, state, or institutional funds can be disbursed. However, you do not need to be completely admitted in order to obtain your financial aid award letter, accept your offer, or for us to certify your loans. Because both the financial aid and admissions applications can be lengthy procedures, we recommend you submit both applications at about the same time so you will have time to gather the supporting materials you'll need for both.
Keep in mind that there is a priority deadline for submitting applications for admission.
