Apply for Financial Aid - Step by Step

Follow each step carefully. This process is necessary for you to apply for Financial Aid

Step 1
Research

It's a good idea to apply for several sources of financial aid. Often, a single source of funding will not meet all of your estimated costs of attendance. Review our Types of Financial Aid section for information about your aid options.

Step 2
Apply for Admission

Applying for admissions will help your financial aid process, you may be eligible for more scholarships, grants or loans based on the program you enter. By applying for admission it also lets us know how much funding you are likely to need. You can apply online at UAOnline.

Step 3
Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

To complete the FAFSA, you will need to include the University of Alaska Southeast's School or Title IV Code: 001065.

Step 4
Complete your financial aid application
After we hear back from the federal processor, we will either ask you to submit additional documentation to verify your FAFSA, or if no further information is needed, we will send you an award letter. The letter will detail your costs of attendance and the funding for which you are eligible.

Step 5
Ensure you receive the results of your financial aid application
The UAS Financial Aid Office will correspond with you by email at the address you provide on your FAFSA application. We will correspond by mail if no email address is provided. After you register for your classes, you will be assigned a UAS student email address (see the Help Desk for more information). All further correspondence will be sent to that address.

Step 6
Complete your Admission application

You will not be able to receive your funding until you are fully admitted and registered for classes.
