The University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan campus has received a grant from the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development to support industrial skills training for Alaska's workforce. Eligible applicants can receive funding for tuition and fees toward UAS Ketchikan courses that will improve current skills or facilitate learning new skills, thereby increasing employability.


Courses eligible for this grant include:

  • Diesel Engines Simplified
  • Basic Hydraulics
  • Basic Refrigeration
  • Jr. Engineer Prep
  • Welding (Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced)
  • Marine Transportation courses
