General Procedures
- Apply each academic year for financial aid. Application deadlines vary, so apply early.
- Determine if you are eligible.
- Determine how much financial aid do you need at our costs of attendance page.
- Make sure you have a government issued photo ID (needed for promissory notes for loans and picking up financial aid checks).
- Apply and be accepted for admission to a degree or certificate program at UAS. Apply online, or contact the Admissions Office for a paper application. Your application for admission does not need to be complete for you to begin applying for financial aid. However, you must be admitted to actually receive your funds.
- Meet with your assigned academic advisor. To find out who your advisor is, contact the Student Resource Center, or call 907-796-6000 (locally) or 1-877-465-4827 (toll-free).
- Register for classes by following the instructions in the semester class schedule.
- Make payment to Student Accounts/Business Services (907-796-6267) or check the status of your financial aid before the payment deadline.
