The Alaska Law Enforcement Training (ALET) Program offers specialized classes and practical training for a variety of law enforcement careers. It is offered cooperatively by the University of Alaska Southeast and the Alaska Department of Public Safety.Sessions are offered in both Fall and Spring semesters.

Law Enforcement O.E.

Occupational endorsements are programs of study designed to give students intensive training in a specific occupational field.

Typically an occupational endorsement is less than 30 credits, and is not an eligible program for financial aid.

Minor in Legal Studies

Minors are areas of study that students can use to expand the scope of their bachelor degree program (for example a student in a Art major can add a Business minor).

Typically a minor is 15 credits, it cannot be the same emphasis as the main degree program.

UAS is an open enrollment institution, this means that you do not have to be in a UAS degree program to take a class. Anyone can take our classes as long as they meet the course pre-requisites.

LAWS Classes: Fall - 2013


This course examines business in its relation to the legal and judicial systems and to government regulation. It explores legal concepts and issues pertaining to competition, sales, employees, liabilities and forms of doing business.
