As a public institution, UAS believes it has a responsibility to the community. UAS students engage in volunteerism and hold fundraising events for local non-profit service organizations such as the food bank, homeless shelter and United Way agencies.
The purpose of a liberal arts education is, as the Latin translation implies, to instill the responsibility inherent to living in and maintaining a free society.
