Bringing Alpha Phi Omega to UAS
The key towards the establishment of our local chapter (Alpha Zeta Theta) was through the encouragement of our first dedicated advisor, Chris Washko, and the desire of a few UAS students wanting to contribute to the Juneau community through service.

Beginning in 2005, as a petitioning group, founding members dedicated their time and efforts towards Alpha Phi Omega's key principles of Service, Leadership, and Friendship. Hours of campus, national, and community service projects, as well as some good times hanging out and traveling together, have paid off. In November of 2006, UAS gained its first Nationally affiliated fraternity. We hope to uphold the precepts laid down by Frank Reed Horton, the founder of APO. We strive to establish a chapter that will endure and that will exhibit the finest quality of leadership, inextricably tied to the principals of serving others in the spirit of fellowship.
