Completing this form will deliver an email to the Helpdesk with all of the pertinent information to have your computer registered on the Housing Network.

To Find Your Unique MAC address

External Wireless cards

Check on the bottom of the card.  Usually the MAC address is printed there.  It will be listed as either MAC Address or Physical Address.

Mac OS X

  1. Click on the Apple menu
  2. Click on System Preferences
  3. Click on Network Preferences
  4. Look in the Show field and select AirPort
  5. Copy down the AirPort ID in the form below
The Airport ID = the MAC Address.

Windows XP:

  1. Click Start > Run…
  2. Type “cmd”, press enter
  3. At the prompt, type “ipconfig/all”
  4. Copy down the Physical Address in the form below

Windows VISTA:

  1. From the start menu, enter “cmd” in the search window
  2. The Command Prompt Application will appear in the results pane. Double click it to launch the application
  3. At the prompt, type “ipconfig/all”
  4. Copy down the Physical Address in the form below

Computer Details

The "MAC" address of your internet capable device is a unique identifier. This is true, no matter the make/model of your web-accessing equipment (PC, Macintosh, Xbox, etc.).
