Outlook Settings

These settings are to configure your campus computer to connect to the UAS Exchange server. This will NOT work for Off-Campus users at this time. Additionally, using these settings through a VPN connection is not recommended. 

Outlook 2007

An ideal method to connect your computer to Exchange is to have IT Services work with you to connect your computer to the new UA domain. This will enable your computer to auto-configure settings with Exchange. 

Once auto-connected, the following settings are recommended to give you the best interaction:

 

• Disable "Use Cached Exchange Mode" (Tools -> Account Settings -> Exchange -> Cached Exchange Mode)
• Enable "Send immediately when connected" (Tools -> Options -> Mail Setup)
• Choose "Rich Text" for Compose in this message format. (Tools -> Options -> Mail Format > drop-down menu)
• Allow comma as address separator (Tools -> Options -> Preferences, Email options, Advanced Email Options...)
• Disable AutoArchive (Tools -> Options -> Other, AutoArchive)
• Disable Outlook Junk Mail Filtering (Actions > Junk Email > Junk Email Options... Choose No Automatic Filtering)
