Housing Options
UAS offers four primary housing options. Placement within student housing depends largely on class standing, age, and date of completed application packet.
Banfield Hall
Banfield Hall is the only residence hall on campus, offering suite-style double-occupancy rooms. Two rooms share an adjoining entry room and bathroom. A small refrigerator and microwave are located in common entry room. Banfield Hall is typically reserved for traditional-aged first-year students. It is a substance-free building.
Apartment Doubles
D-Building offers single students apartment housing with two double-occupancy rooms, housing a total of four students. Each apartment is fully furnished and includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, storage closet, and one or two hall closets. Kitchens are equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Students must supply their own cookware.
Apartment Singles
E, F, and G Buildings are comprised of four-person apartments each with four small single bedrooms. Each apartment is fully furnished and includes a kitchen, dining room, living room, storage closet, and one to three hall closets. Kitchens are equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, oven, and microwave. Students must supply their own cookware. Most apartment singles are reserved for over-21 residents, though some units are designated as under-21 apartments for returners and early applicants.
Family Apartments
A limited number of family apartments are available. Each unit consists of two bedrooms in a fully furnished apartment. The internal storage room has washer/dryer hookups, though residents must provide their own appliances. To be eligible for family housing, applicants must meet one of the qualifications outlined in the family housing placement profile. Total occupancy within a family unit, including children, must not exceed four persons. The Residence Life Manager must be notified immediately of any changes or additions to the members of the household. Families who change the status of their occupancy and no longer meet the criteria of a family unit will have their family housing agreement terminated; they may then apply for single student housing as space permits.
Small Housing Units
Mattocks House and Ellsworth House are two furnished off-site units with single bedrooms. Priority for small housing is given to graduate students, and as space permits, to undergraduate students above the age of 25.
