UAS Spanish Club

This is a club that is open to anyone who wants to get together to practice their Spanish, open to the whole campus community and more. Each year, the Spanish club is very different, depending on the student leaders. We have had dinners, dances and dance lessons, slides, speakers, radio shows, movies, music, and much more over the years. In the coming academic year, look for weekly "tertulias", chat sessions where you can amaze yourself about how you managed to express something you never dreamed you could!

Machu Pichu
Spanish 393 Students in Machu Picchu, Peru (2003)

TRAVEL - Each year in the December-January semester break, the club sponsors a group of a dozen or so students to a new Spanish speaking destination for an intensive look at the language and the culture of that particular host country. While the study portion of the trip is indeed rigorous, there is a healthy dose of vacation and tourism interspersed. In the past we have visited Mexico, Ecuador, Cuba, Venezuela and Peru. This December, look for a caribbean destination, probably either Cuba (again) or the Dominican Republic!
