Language Arts and Communications Emphasis

The Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree with Language Arts and Communication emphasis is designed for students seeking a broad-based education that can lead to graduate school or jobs in which critical thinking and communication skills are valued. Students engage in time-honored methods of inquiry: creative endeavor, critical interpretation, dialogue, historical and logical analysis, and scholarly investigation. BLA graduates who are interested in teaching may also apply to the one-year Master of Arts in Teaching programs at UAS. Students should consult with faculty in their areas of interest to design an individualized course of study.
