Education:

Michael Ciri was raised in the wilderness by wolves and dropped in front of the Mourant Building in 1982 to fend for himself. And he fended well. He went from student to student employee to a regular employee in computing in 1986. He became director of Information Technology and Media Services in 2000.

He is UAS educated, receiving an AA in 1988, a B.A. in Liberal Arts in 1994 and received his master's in Public Administration in 2007. He also holds the record for most consecutive years of living in student housing and is in the UAS mascot hall of fame as the original "Spike" the whale.

Hello, my name is Ward. I am here to help UAS technology users leverage information technology services in support of their academic goals.

Biography:

Hello, my name is Cody. I stand six feet tall; have red hair, blue eyes, and a mostly athletic build. Some would call me a Renaissance man. I can cook Coconut Cream Macaroons, Pad Thai and other delectables at a moment's notice. I fix things that are broken and improve things that are not. Heck, I even clean sometimes. To satisfy the Alaskan in me, when in the woods, I build fires without using Sterno logs, and always carry extra layers.

I grew up in Juneau and went to Juneau Douglas High School. I was one of the few to stay in the Phoenix Program for all four years. Phoenix allowed me the benefits of a more self-directed learning. It is a technology oriented, project based program designed to fit a more "real-world" concept of working in teams to achieve some goal.

Growing up, I became involved in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program also - it has been a significant element in my life. I now support them in whatever way possible, though I haven't yet taken the plunge to be a Big Brother myself.

I work for UAS Help Desk. If you've called, we may have talked before, and now you can see a face with the voice. If we haven't met yet, then by all means introduce yourself - I love meeting new people!

Ultimate Frisbee is my sport of choice, though I'm growing in my enjoyment of volleyball. I'm the club advisor for Ultimate on campus, and usually find myself involved with the summer league too. I like to hike fast, bike through the mud, and - though I can't bring myself to say that I really like it - I run. If it gives you any insight about me, my running is usually only once a year in the Klondike Road Relay, and I think training is overrated.

Future goals include many things, some tangible, others more abstract. I look forward to being an awesome husband, father, friend and coach. I enjoy being an unknown philanthropist, anonymously financing projects, endowments and other things like a super-hero of sorts. I don't like the lime-light unless it serves the greater good (I don't really like extra attention). I like the idea of a being a present day Bruce Wayne - a regular fellow by day, and fighting the evil of the world by night. (Don' expect any capes or masks though, I'm not a big Halloween fan, despite the IT videos that have been posted.)
