UA Username Migration

All UA campuses are migrating existing computer accounts to the new “UA Username” This means faculty and students will have a new computer account name that is consistent across all UA campuses.

The new username will be in the form of First Initial + Middle Initial + Last Name (+possible number), for example: Franklin D. Roosevelt = FDROOSEVELT3

The migration is complex and involves many systems.  To make this process as smooth as possible, the old accounts will remain active through the end of the calendar year. 

The new accounts have been created for all users. We encourage you to set your initial password as soon as possible using ELMO. For those with a legacy account, please utilize the new account for ONLY the systems currently using the UA Username listed below. 

Migration Status - Project back on Track

UAS is the first MAU to begin rolling out the new username for our systems.  Our approach is to migrate gradually in order to minimize impact. This will mean that staff and faculty using the "legacy" accounts will be using both accounts for a period of time as the transition occurs.

 We are completing the work on the last systems to be migrated and the new date for accounts to expire is March 31st, 2008 April 14th!

Accounts Removed in Days!

At this time everyone should use their UA username accounts for nearly every service.  If you are not please read the details below.  If a transition is unclear or a system is not covered, please contact the Helpdesk for assistance.
