Computer Consultants
Academic Computing is honored to have such talented student assistants working for us. Computer Consultants answer questions, deliver and set up equipment, and provide general guidance in the use of software programs such as word processors, spreadsheets, web browsers, and electronic conferencing. They also direct technology users to information resources such as manuals, tutorials, and classes.
Computer Consultants are responsible for maintaining multimedia carts in classrooms and lab resources and provide training to students, staff, and faculty in there use. The Computer Consultants' secondary responsibility is assisting students with navigating through software applications. Their role is to provide direction, rather than answers to homework, by explaining how to use the applications' help files and manuals. Many classes have specialized software that the Computer Consultants are unfamiliar with; in such cases, we will refer students to their instructor for support.
