Maritime Experience:

Mr. Miller has worked as an Ordinary or Able Bodied Seaman on various coastal freighters, and Alaska Marine Highway vessels as well as at 25,000 ton container ship. He also worked for eight years as a Chief Mate / Relief Captain aboard the M/V Polar Venture, a 151 Ton (669 Ton ITC) Coastal Freighter and the M/V Sea Trader, a 360 Ton (1200 Ton ITC) Coastal Freighter. In his off time he has filled in as Mate aboard several tugboats and as Captain on small passenger vessels.

Mr. Miller is currently the lead professor of Marine Transportation at the University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Campus and is USCG approved to teach Master 100 Ton, Basic Safety Training, Able Seaman and Radar Observer courses. He is also authorized by the Alaska Office of Boating Safety to teach the Alaska Water Wise course.
