Degree Seeking
The University of Alaska Southeast is an open admission school. All students who have a high school diploma or who have passed the GED are qualified to enroll as a degree seeking student.

Applying for Admission
There are many ways to apply to the University of Alaska Southeast: fill out an application on our Web site, download a PDF application to fill out and mail in, or send for a paper application in the mail. No matter how you choose to apply, we encourage you to apply early in the spring of your senior year!
We require the following to make an admissions decision.
- Completed Application for Admission.
- You will be required to select a specific degree.
- $40 non-refundable application fee
- Please make your check or money order payable to the University of Alaska Southeast. If you apply online, you have the option of paying with a credit card.
- High school transcript(s) or GED
- Official transcripts of ALL previous college work
If you taken college courses, even if no credit was earned, submit official transcripts (with an official signature or seal, or printed on security paper) from all colleges or universities attended. We cannot accept faxed or photocopied transcripts.
International Students will be required to submit additional information.
Under special circumstances, we may need additional materials:
- If you completed AP courses, CLEP exams or scored high on your ACT/SAT exams, submit copies official copies of your scores. This will enable us to consider these courses for use towards your degree requirements.
- If you have been in the military you will want to include a copy of your official Military Arts transcripts so they may be evaluated for credit.
- If English is not your native language you may be asked to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
- If you have a documented disability or medical condition we ask that you submit official documentation of your condition so we may assist you in establishing accommodations to level the playing field.
