Distance Education Services

If you are a registered UAS student, no matter what subject area you are studying, there are library services and materials available online and delivered to your home through the Egan Library. _{*For students living near or taking classes through the Ketchikan campus, there is additional library support at the UAS Ketchikan campus library}

Some things for you to keep in mind that will help you with using the Egan Library at a distance:

• Register for a library card so that we have you in our circulation system.
• Find your UAS username in ELMO - Easy Login Maintenance Option so that you can gain access to library databases from any computer.

• Ask the Help Desk to send you an "Information Technology Literacy CD" (a CD that has recommended software for accessing UAS classes and the library at a distance). Contact the Help Desk in Alaska toll free at (877) 465-6400.

• Create an ILLiad account where you can make requests for materials the Egan Library owns or will obtain for you from another library through interlibrary loan
• Learn to use the Egan Library website - Visit our Research Assistance page.

• Visit the Library Catalogs page and Electronic Books page to find books on your research topic
• Visit the Find Articles by Subject page to conduct journal article research in your research area OR
• Visit our Alphabetical List of databases offered for journal article research OR
• Visit our Quick Links to database vendors page for journal article research
• Visit our Finding Journals page for locating the full text of journals and articles within them
