Biography:

Hired by the UAS Egan Library in 1999, Elise has worked in school, public, special, and academic libraries for the past 25 years.  She became the new Regional Library Director for UAS in 2012.  Outside of librarianship, Elise is a painter and a photographer who exhibits regularly in Juneau.  She also loves to spend time with her family skiing, sailing, and playing musical instruments.  Come by and say hello the next time you're in the library!

Caroline is the Technical Services Librarian at Egan Library. She lived in Washington DC, Philadelphia, and Boston prior to moving to Juneau in 2007.  She works behind the scenes at the library to build the collection of print and electronic resources.   Please let her know if you have a recommendation!

Biography:

Jonas is a librarian, poet and super dad who believes that parenting is poetry and leads to the appreciation and awareness of everyday magic. He began working in libraries in 2005 and now there's no turning back. He looks forward to working with library staff, campus faculty and students to bring new unexpected programs and activities into the library. When not juggling libraries, poems, children and 100 year old houses, Jonas enjoys skiing, hiking, kayaking and turning the volume up loud.

Biography:

Jeri's role in the library is to make sure the staff  and faculty have what they need to get their jobs done.  She works closely with the director to manage the departmental budget.  

As a student in UAA's Low-Residency MFA program, Jeri has absolutely no free time.  When she is not in her office she may sometimes be found at the Rec Center on an elliptical machine with a book balanced on top of the display. After she a) graduates, b) writes a bestseller, and c) gets rich, Jeri hopes to be found mostly in the south of France.

Beatrice is a 30+ year Juneau resident who has been on the Egan Library staff since 1996.  She is fluent in French and travels to exotic places.  Her favorite pastimes are playing tennis, drawing and painting, and reading.  She also loves cats (and dogs).

Valerie moved to Alaska in 1977, has worked at UAS since 1992 and for Egan Library since 1996.  She enjoys studying French.  Her favorite pastimes include walking, reading and spending time with her husband and two grandchildren.
