How to print


Instructiontions on how to print using the Media Service Sharp Color MX-2300 printer

How do I set up an account?



This step will take less than 3 minutes.

Stop by before your first print

Know your department’s org. number

(usually the 5-digit number)


How do I print using Sharp Color MX-2300 printer?


Remember to check where you are printing before you print!
You don't want to accidently print on the Sharp Color Printer and add additional costs to your department.

Avoid this unwanted additional cost by selecting a default printer different from the Media Service Sharp Printer.
  1. Click Start

  2. Click on Printers and Faxes

  3. Select a printer from the list (Not Media Service Sharp Printer)
  4. Right click the printer name and click on Set as Default Printer
  5. Notice that the check mark moved to your new default printer

How to login online into your department account?


  1. Open a web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Firefox)


  2. In the address space type: 137.229.217.136

  3. Login to printer

  4. Type your departments org. number in the username box
  5. Type your departments password in the password box
    Note:123 is the default password

    How do I change my account password online?


  1. After you Login you should see the options available for the printer.
  2. Login to printer

  3. From the left-hand navigation bar, click on User Control.
  4. Locate and click on your org. number
  5. Note: It should be in blue
  6. On the new page, check the hyperlink with your account number
  7. Click on the blue number


  8. Next change your Password.

  9. Note: Only share your password with other people in your department

    Click on submit to set your new password

How to change the language of your printing account?


  1. Login into your account.
  2. Login to printer
  3. Select your language at the top of the page.

How to see the quanity of paper in the printer trays?


  1. Login into your account.
  2. Login to printer
  3. Click on the Status link
  4. On the next page you can view hom much paper is in the printer trays

Note:

Tray 1 uses 8 1/2 by 11 inch.
Tray 2 uses 8 1/2 by 11 inch.
Tray 2 uses 8 1/2 by 14 inch.
Tray 2 uses 11 by 17 inch.

How to print from your computer on the UAS network?


  1. Click on Start and then Run…


  2. Type \\printers and click OK


  3. From the printers list, choose Media Services Sharp Color (double click to install on your computer).


  4. A window will pop-up (this is the printer queue). From the upper menu, go to Printer and then Printer Preferences…


  5. In the new window, click on the Job Handling tab on the upper menu


  6. (This is also your options menu for setting-up paper-type, size, etc.)

    On the right hand side, fill-out your username and password.


    Make sure you leave the boxes next to them checked if you wish the printer to remember them next time you wish to print. If not, uncheck them.


    Click OK. You’re computer is ready to print.

How to print using a Macintosh Operating System?


  1. Click on Apple and than System Preferences
  2. Click on the Print & Fax
  3. Click on the Plus sign to add a new printer
  4. Select the Windows printing icon and than click on UAS
  5. Click on printers
  6. Click on the Media Service Sharp Printer
  7. Login with your UAS user name and password
  8. The Media Service Sharp Color printer is now ready
