Channel Surfing
This page gives you a way to preview all the channels that UAS supplies to the MyUA project. Each campus has channels and you may add any of them to your tabs.
Click on the channel to view what it would look like in the MyUA Portal.
What is a channel?
Like a television channel it is a box of information from a specific source.
Can I add more?
Yes you can add as many channels to your tabs as you wish.
Where do I find these channels?
- When you are in MyUA,
- Click on the 'Content/Layout' about your tabs.
- Then click the 'Add Channel' button where ever you want to insert the channel.
- Select a category from the drop down list. Click the 'Go' button.
- Click on the channel you want (you can only choose one at a time).
- Click 'finished'.
How do I know what each channel does?
That is what this channel surfing page is for. You can preview any channel that has been created by UAS.
What is a Bonus Channel?
These are channels that are not on any tab by default, so they must be added.
What is a Default Channel and why would I want to add it if I already have one?
The channels that are first on your tabs in MyUA will show all the information for any campus you ever were associated with in the UA system. So, you may want only the "Default UAS" channel instead. Also, you may have deleted a channel and you want it back.
Will there be more channels available?
Yes! We will be adding more channels all the time.
What if I have an idea for a channel?
You can contact the UAS channel developer for information at myua@uas.alaska.edu.
