New Student Orientation - Juneau Campus

Orientation Mission

The UAS Orientation mission is to assist new students in making a successful transition, academically and socially, into the UAS culture and community.

Orientation Goals and Objectives

The goals of New Student Orientation are:

1. Relationships: for students to begin to cultivate meaningful relationships with members of the UAS community (i.e. advisors, mentors, student life professionals, faculty members, other upper-class students, and fellow first-year students).

2. Academic Processess: to orient students to UAS academic processes such as reading a class schedule, understanding University terminology, and navigating University online systems and software.

3. Campus Facilities and Services: to orient students to buildings and facilities on the main campus as well as student support services.

Cost

Fall - The cost to attend Fall Orientation is $75 and will be billed to your student account automatically for new admitted students who are registered for 12 or more credits. Students registered for less than 12 credits will be billed after you sign-up. This fee covers materials, activities and food for both days of Orientation.

Spring - The cost to attend Spring Orientation is $40 and will be billed to your student account automatically for new admitted students who are registered for 12 or more credits. Students registered for less than 12 credits will be billed after they sign-up. This fee covers materials, activities and food during the day of Orientation.
