UAS Chancellor Announces May 2015 Retirement
Chancellor John Pugh will retire on May 29 next year. Today’s announcement marks the completion of a 28-year career at UAS that began in 1987, including service as the Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences and the Dean of Faculty.

UAS to host "Empty Chair" Performance and Film: October 17-18 at the Egan Lecture Hall
For the Friday Evening at Egan presentation, Seattle-based arts group Living Voices presents “Within the Silence”, the story of Juneau teenager John Tanaka’s internment experience. Saturday night is a special screening of "The Empty Chair" produced by Juneau filmmaker Greg Chaney.

Rodger will visit UAS classes, participate in a community reception and present the lecture, “Discovering Science and Finding the Story: Steinbeck and Ricketts explore the Sea of Cortez and Alaska's Outer Shores” on Friday night as part of the Evening at Egan series.

UAS Celebrates Commencement This Weekend
UAS is honoring graduates from Summer and Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 and expects another record breaking year. Six hundred and eighty-five UAS students have already graduated or applied to receive 787 occupational endorsements, certificates, degrees, or licensures. In 2013, UAS conferred 625 awards to 557 students.
