UAS FALL CLASS SCHEDULE MAILED TO MORE THAN 15,000 IN JUNEAU

The newest schedule for UAS fall semester classes goes in the mail this weekend to more than 15,000 in Juneau. For the first time the cover is in full color and shows the Auke Lake campus in the red leaves of fall. Registration is now underway. Fall semester classes begin Aug. 31.

"Inside the schedule are all the answers you need to know what's happening this fall at UAS," according to Lori Exferd who is the chief advisor for freshman.

The schedule lists more than 300 different classes offered this coming semester. In addition the schedule includes a four-step registration guide, tuition and fees, a listing of campus services, the final exam schedule and more.

Exferd says anyone with questions should call the Student Resource Center on campus (465-6457). "That's where the advising center is, and they can get you started." Students can schedule meetings with advisors and take placement tests. New student orientation for all new and transfer students begins August 25.

Registration is open to anyone at the Auke Lake campus. Those who have previously taken a UAS class may register over the phone. "If you're fresh out of high school and looking for something to do this fall and interested in going full-time," Exferd said, "we have a variety of classes available. If you've been in town ten years and work full-time we can get you in for part-time classes also."
