"SEARCHING THE GALAXY FOR LIFE," FRIDAY SPEECH TOPIC AT UAS

Dr. Jill Cornell Tarter, the real life hero of the movie "Contact" will present a free, public lecture Friday (March 5) at 7 p.m. on the UAS campus in the Mourant Building. Her topic is "Searching the Galaxy for Life."

Tarter is director of Project Phoenix at the Search for Extraterrestrial Foundation. Tarter focuses on exploratory research trying to determine whether biology has given rise to detectable technology in other parts of the galaxy. She was a friend and colleague of the late scientist, Carl Sagan, who wrote "Contact."
