SOUTH UAS ACCESS ROAD TO BE CLOSED

Road access to the UAS Auke Lake campus will be limited for the next two weeks. Auke Way, the south access opposite Fritz Cove Road, will be closed for resurfacing starting Monday (Aug. 9.) Those driving to campus will have to use the north access off Back Loop Road.

Auke Way will be closed from Glacier Highway to the Hendrickson Building on campus. In addition there will be no parking in the Hendrickson/Chapel by the Lake parking lot since it will be used as a staging area by the contractor, Secon Inc.

UAS Facilities, Planning and Construction Director Bob Green said the work should take about two weeks depending on the weather. The work will involve grinding the surface, repairing the underling base, improving drainage, laying two inches of asphalt, and striping the road.

Tour buses will not have access to Chapel by the Lake during the project.
