1999 Juneau welcomes the year 2000 with a Millennium Ball at Centennial Hall on New YearÍs Eve. Reserved seating tickets go on sale Saturday (Nov. 13) at 10 a.m. at Mendenhall Mall. Tickets will be available at the UAS cashier after Saturday. This is a Tuxedo Junction event with proceeds funding UAS scholarships. JuneauÍs Millennium Ball features a variety of entertainment and music. They include David Paul from Chicago with his "Tribute to Frank Sinatra," comedian Cary Long from Atlanta, GA, rock ïn roll with the band, No One Famous, big band music with the Rainlight Dance Band, live video of events from around the world, champagne at every reserved seat, hors d oeuvres, party favors, commemorative photos by Art Sutch and more. A Caribbean cruise for two will be the door prize and is sponsored by Holland America Westours. "The Tuxedo Junction Millennium Ball will only happen once in our lifetimes," UAS coordinator Tish Griffin said. "With fabulous entertainment, scrumptious hors d oeuvres, champagne and dancing there will be lots to do as you party in the new year." The Millennium Ball takes place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on New Years Eve. Tickets are $75 for lobby seating and $100 for ballroom seating. -30-
