WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH PUBLIC PRESENATIONS AT UAS A public speakers series will be held on the University of Alaska Southeast campus during March to celebrate WomenÍs History Month. Eight different presentations are scheduled on different topics. They will take place in the Mourant BuildingÍs Lake Room on Wednesday and Friday, and the public is welcome. Topics and presentation dates follow: Wednesday, March 1, 12:00-1:30, Lake Room. "Women Writers: Re-shaping Literary History." Presentations and discussion with Assistant Professor of English Alexis Easley and her British Women Writers class. Friday, March 3, 12:00-1:00, Lake Room. "International Perspectives on Women's Issues." Roundtable discussion with Global Connections, an international student group.. Wednesday, March 8, 12:00-1:30, Lake Room. "ïOn Her Their Lives Depend': The Reformation of Gender Roles in the Great War of 1914." Presentation and discussion with Assistant Professor of History Robin Walz. Friday, March 10, 12:00-1:00, Lake Room. "A Comparative Analysis of Women's Movements in the United States and Europe." Presentation and discussion with Tity deVries, Visiting Fulbright Scholar from the Netherlands. Wednesday, March 22, 12:00-1:30, Lake Room. "Gendered Media." Presentations and discussion with Professor of Speech Communications Sue Koester and her Gendered Interpersonal Communication class. Friday, March 24, 12:00-1:00, Lake Room. "Mary Parker Follett: Feminist, Postmodernist and Management Consultant, a Century Ahead of Her Time." Presentation and discussion with Assistant Professor of Public Administration Jonathan Anderson. Wednesday, March 29, 12:00-1:30, Library 105. "Women Artists in Alaska." Presentation and discussion with Anchorage artist Wanda Seamster. Friday, March 31, 12:00-1:00, Lake Room. "Roles of Women in Alaskan Native Cultures." Roundtable discussion with Assistant Professor of Anthropology Rosita Worl, Representative Mary Kapsner, artists Lydia George, and Pattie Adkisson, director of the Native and Rural Student Center at UAS.
