UAS Spring Schedule mailed to more than 15,000 in Juneau

Although winter is just arriving in Juneau, the University of Alaska Southeast has sent out their spring class schedule. More than 15,000 copies were mailed to every address.

The 78 page class schedule lists more than 375 different classes in 50 different
subject areas. "Start to finish, we spend three months preparing the schedule," according to UAS Registrar Lori Exferd. "It takes a lot of work between faculty, support staff and the records office to put it together. We take care to make it as accurate and clear for students as possible."

In addition to listing all the classes, meeting times, meeting locations, and instructors, the UAS spring schedule also includes information about registering, including phone registration, tuition and fees, financial aid, campus services, campus technology resources, a map of buildings and a list of summer 2001 and fall 2001 classes to help students plan.

"The schedule," Exferd said, "is the place to look for what is available at UAS this spring semester."

Registration is now open for UAS spring semester classes. Those who have taken classes since fall 1997 may register by phone. Spring semester begins January 16.
