KEYBANK CONTRIBUTES TO UAS KeyBank has donated $25,000 to the University of Alaska Southeast as an unrestricted gift. The money to UAS is part of $175,000 given by the bank to the the Anchorage and Fairbanks University of Alaska campuses. Win Gruening, senior vice president, said, "We feel the university is an important part of the Alaska economy. We continue to make contributions to the university." UAS Chancellor John Pugh said the importance of private sector support to the university system could not be under estimated. He also said unrestricted gifts provide an important flexibility "to provide support where and when it is needed most - most often for projects where state funding is simply unavailable, thereby providing a level of excellence in education that would otherwise not be possible." -30-
