2001 Seventy-five students and eight faculty have completed this summer's Bread Loaf at UAS program. "It was remarkably smooth," Director Kevin Dunn said. "It was a wonderful summer." Rural Development and Criminal Justice concentrations have been added to the Master of Public Administration degree program at the University of Alaska Southeast. "For students working in the field of criminal justice or rural development, having these concentration designations on their transcript may be helpful for their careers," according to MPA program director Dr. Jonathan Anderson. The new concentrations are available through collaborative agreements between UAS and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. UAF delivers both programs statewide through distance technology. The current MPA program already includes such management areas a human resources, budget, personnel, organization theory, and research. "These two new concentrations give students a greater choice of classes that will benefit their careers," Anderson said. "It's a greater value added to their MPA degree." -30-
