August 24,
2001 UAS faculty and staff will be at the Nugget Mall Saturday (Aug. 25) to conduct a special Career Education registration between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Career Education classes teach specific job skills in areas such as nursing, computers, automotive, construction, diesel, drafting, welding, marine and woodworking "We thought it might be a good opportunity for parents that are shopping for their kids for back to school," according to Phil McRee who is coordinating the Saturday registration. "They might treat themselves to the gift of learning for something they've always been interested in." McRee, who also teaches Marine Construction classes, said faculty members would be at the mall to answer questions about classes. "It's a good way for people to know exactly what Career Ed class to sign up for," McRee said. There are extended registration hours next week at the UAS Auke Lake campus. Registration will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. UAS fall semester classes begin Sept. 4. -30- For information:
