"Lamplight" Wins Card Contest

Chancellor John Pugh announced Crystal Hegel as the winner of the annual UAS Chancellor's Holiday Card Contest last week.   Each fall students submit their artwork from which Chancellor John Pugh and his wife Margaret choose for the front of the University's Holiday Card.

The front of the card has Hegel's silkscreen image Lamplight , which was chosen from many other entries.   Hegel received a check in the amount of $100 for her winning entry and lunch with the Chancellor. "It's a great tradition and Crystal's artwork embodied the perfect holiday image," said Chancellor Pugh. "We received many wonderful entries, it's a shame we could only choose one winner.   We're lucky to have so many talented students in our art department."

Hegel presented Chancellor Pugh with the framed original artwork.

Above Hegel's image on the card is written "Enlighten Your Life" and inside the card reads "May the pursuit of knowledge be the guiding light that illuminates your way to a path of peace, joy and happiness."   Copies of the card are available in the UAS Bookstore.
