Six New Degree Programs for UAS

The University of Alaska Board of Regents today approved six new degree programs for the University of Alaska Southeast. Passed were certificates in community wellness advocacy, pre-nursing qualifications, and health information management privacy. An associate of applied science in health sciences was also added in addition to bachelors of science degrees in mathematics and marine biology.

“This is a great step forward for the University,” said UAS Chancellor John Pugh. “The addition of the six new programs this year, plus the five we added last year are really helping to fulfill the educational and employment demands of state.”

When the Board of Regents met in Juneau last year they passed certificates in automotive technology and residential building science. The Board also passed bachelor degrees in English, Social Science and Information Systems.
