Bursting Sprinkler Pipe Halts Phone Service at UAS

A frozen pipe burst in the phone room this afternoon at the University of Alaska Southeast, bringing down fax and phone service to the Auke Lake Campus. Technicians are assessing the damage, but are fairly certain that phone service will not be returned to the University today, and possibly not before the weekend.

E-mail is still working and the registration counter will remain open from 8:00A.M. to 5:00P.M. today and Friday.
