UAS to Host SETI Senior Astronomer

Dr. Seth Shostak, Senior Astronomer of the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Institute in Mountain View, California will present How Science is Searching for Extraterrestrial Life at the UAS Egan Library on Monday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m.

The mission of the SETI Institute is to explore, understand and explain the origin, nature and prevalence of life in the universe. Dr. Shostak will explain how SETI uses science to seek for evidence of intelligent communicating life in the universe by looking for some signature of its technology.

Dr. Shostak hosts the nationally syndicated weekly radio program Are We Alone? He is widely recognized for his ability to translate scientific complexities into accessible language and is a regular lecturer of astronomy at the California Academy of Sciences. He has appeared on the Discovery, Learning, and History Channels, Good Morning America, Larry King Live, Coast to Coast AM, National Public Radio, CNN News, and National Geographic Television.
