June 9, 2006 The University of Alaska Board of Regents approved the UAS Bachelors of Arts in Biology at its June 8th meeting in Kodiak. "This is a great compliment to the Bachelors of Science in Biology program," said Chancellor John Pugh. "It is a perfect option for students who want to go on to teach science at the middle or high school level." The degree provides a solid foundation for students in biology with an emphasis in liberal arts. The curriculum is designed for students who are interested in policy, management, or going on to medical school. The Bachelors of Science in Biology curriculum includes more rigorous math that is required for careers in research or advancing to higher degrees. -30- Contact: Kevin Myers UAS Director Public Relations and Marketing 796-6530 cell 321-2755 |
