LeCompte Accepts Two-Year Directorship at UAS Ketchikan

Cathy LeCompte has accepted a two-year contract as the Director of the University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan Campus. The move adds stability to the UAS regional leadership, which includes Sitka Campus Director Jeffery Johnston and UAS regional Chancellor John Pugh.

Ms. LeCompte moved to Ketchikan from Aberdeen, Washington in April 1999 and worked at the Chamber of Commerce as the event coordinator and fund development director. She joined UAS as a member of the business management faculty and became the Assistant Campus Director in July 2003; she has worked as interim director since May 2005.

Ms. LeCompte is very active in the community as a volunteer for the Monthly Grind, Arts Council, and First City Players. Ms. LeCompte is the former Chair of the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau and Girl Scout board member. She is currently serving as the Steering Board Chair for Compass II community assessment and a member of the board of directors for the United Way of Southeast Alaska.
