Learn, Engage, Change is the key component of the branding for the University of Alaska Southeast. This trio of iconic, open-ended words resonates with prospective students, current students and alumni.

The guiding principles of Learn, Engage, Change represent the journey of every UAS student — residential or e-Learning, arts and sciences, career education, management, or education. These words signify an investment in the total UAS experience, from the first semester to graduation and beyond:
  • learning in small classes in a place of unparalleled natural beauty
  • engaging in the university community and the surrounding Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan communities through service, research and creative expression
  • changing by studying the sciences on a glacier or the coast, the arts in the studio or on the stage, education in the classroom, business or administration through internships or training for careers and job placement.

As part of the official UAS logo, Learn, Engage, Change is essential to building the reputation of the University of Alaska Southeast throughout the region, the state of Alaska, and the western United States.

The UAS Offices of Admissions and Public Relations and Marketing integrate the concepts of Learn, Engage, Change into print, web, social media, and broadcast materials for student recruitment and outreach.
