UAS relies on adjunct instructors to increase both the breadth and the depth of educational opportunities available to our students. As an adjunct instructor, you play a critical role in strengthening UAS courses and programs. Thank you for the quality instruction that you provide to our students!

As a step toward providing you the support you need, we invite you to complete this annual adjunct faculty self-assessment. Completing this is voluntary, but your responses will help us identify how best to support adjunct instruction. It should only take a few minutes and we believe it will lead to better support for you and your adjunct faculty colleagues.

Please return the completed form by May 10, 2013 via email to your dean or director. We will make sure that your assessment gets to the appropriate program coordinator or department chair who will review your assessment and respond to you within 2-3 weeks.

Narrative Self-Assessment:

Please write a brief narrative reflecting on your teaching experiences this year at UAS. What successes and challenges did you experience as an adjunct instructor? Provide specific examples where appropriate. Were you able to meet the student learning outcomes that you set forth in your syllabus? (No more than 1 page is expected)

Student Ratings:

Please look over the student ratings for your classes and summarize what you learned from them. Do they prompt you to make any changes in your courses? Your student ratings can be retrieved from your course website at UASOnline. Login, go to your course site, click the ‘homesite’ button in the left column, and scroll down to the link ‘view student ratings.’

UAS Assistance:

What can UAS do to help you as an adjunct instructor? Have you been able to access resources intended to support adjunct faculty at UAS (e.g. adjunct orientations, information on the UAS website)? Were these resources helpful to you?
