Fall Convocation AY 2018-19

UAS conducts convocation ceremonies before each fall semester.  Convocation, a formal assembly of university members, is used to promote collaboration between faculty and staff at the university.  It also serves to welcome new faculty and introduce them to UAS policy and operating procedures.

Academic Year 2019 Fall Convocation will be held at the Juneau Auke Lake Campus on August 21-22, 2018.  The agenda  will be updated with room and connection information shortly.  Questions can be directed to the Provost's office at 796-6147.

2018 Convocation Agenda

Session Information:

Changes to the UAS Mathematics Programs of Study: The UAS mathematics faculty has made some adjustments to its programs to allow flexibility to students who might wish to pursue further studies in mathematics (beyond expected GER/service course). This session is intended to provide all non-program faculty and academic advisors useful information about this structure. This session will also be used to revisit the matter of mathematics GERs for non-stem students, and inform faculty and academic advisors about the work the mathematics faculty have done over the years to address the needs (expectations) of such students through a range of options.
