Drop or Withdraw from a Class

You can drop your full semester classes through UAOnline until the end of the second week of the semester for a 100% refund on tuition and fees. Once the withdrawal period begins you will be able to withdraw through UAOnline for full semester classes. To drop or withdraw from a short course submit a Course Add/Drop/Change Form to the Registrar's office.

Refer to the Academic Calendar for the drop and withdraw deadlines. Your completed Course Add/Drop/Change Forms can be faxed, scanned and emailed, mailed, or submitted in person to the Registrar's Office (Novatney Building, top floor). What is the Difference Between Dropping and Withdrawing?

There is a difference between dropping a class and withdrawing from a class. When you drop a class, the class is refunded and is removed from your schedule. When you withdraw from a class, there is no refund and the class will appear on your transcript with a "W" grade. A "W" grade does not affect GPA; however, it may affect your financial aid. Check with the Financial Aid Office for further details.

Account Holds

If you are unable to drop or withdraw from a class due to a hold on your account, submit your course information using the Course Add/Drop/Change Form.
