Community Council                        Homecoming

The Community Council is a student governing board for the residential affairs of students living in student housing. The Council addresses resident needs, seeks to maintain a positive, safe, and clean living/learning environment, and produces many social events within the residential community on campus. Such events include dances, movie nights, dinners, and karaoke nights.

A Community Council member has the option of becoming a General Community Member, a Building Representative, or becoming a member of the Executive Board.

Homecoming gameBuilding Representative

Each building within Student Housing will select two Community Council Representatives during their building meetings. Building Representatives attend all Community Council meetings, aid and form relationships with their building's Community Advisor (CA), have the ability to request funding to improve Residence Life programming or housing in general, and network with members of SLIRP and Student Government to best meet the needs of students.

Executive Board

The Executive Board provides adminstrative support for the Community Council. Such support includes organizing weekly meetings, being responsible for tasks needed to support programming, and providing building assistance and support for building representatives.  As a member of the Executive Board, you will aid the Building Representatives in their programming and planning of student events within and outside the housing complex.

The Executive Board is comprised of five positions

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary/Treasurer
  • Srgt. Arms
  • Communications Officer

All positions within the Community Council are voluntary.
