SLIRP
(Student Leadership in Residence Program)
The Student Leadership in Residence Program is offered to residential first-year students in Banfield Hall. Weekly sessions include interactive discussions and activities that address current topics in student leadership, in addition to planning sessions for members to facilitate campus events and service projects in the community.
Activities planned by SLIRP include:
- Off campus retreats
- A safe Halloween Carnival alternative for children
- Campus dances
- Volunteerism for community projects
- The UAS year end social event
Participants who complete the program are highly involved on campus by the end of their first year of college and demonstrate exceptional advantages when applying for leadership posititions. SLIRPers currently serve as Community Advisors, Peer Advocates, Student Government officials, Student Activities Board staff, and leaders in many other student organizations.
For more information, contact Stephanie Self at the Housing Lodge or attend a scheduled SLIRP meeting.
