On-site ADRD Training
The UAS staff will work with each agency to create a training that meets the agency’s specifi c training needs for the care of people with Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. The philosophy of these trainings is based in person-centered care and a belief that knowledge and practice in care-skills can enrich the quality of interactions between care givers and elderly people with dementias, in home and institutional settings. The goal of these trainings is that participants will leave with skills and knowledge that they will be able to use immediately. Participants will learn, practice, analyze, and adapt important skills in caring for their clients. Videos, short lecture, role-playing, case study, and discussion will be used to interact with educational material.
