The University of Alaska Southeast welcomes anyone who is interested in taking classes for the semester. If you are pursuing a UAS degree program, we encourage you to register during priority registration in order to reserve seating in the classes you need to progress toward graduation. If you are a new student, it's very important that you speak with an advisor. Non-degree seeking students wanting to take one or more classes for personal enjoyment may register during open registration.
How To Register
Online Registrations:
- New and returning students may register through UAOnline
- If you are new to UAS and are not seeking a degree:
- First apply as a "non-degree seeking" student through UAOnline (choose: Apply for Admission).
- Once you have finished your full online application, an instruction page will appear - explaining how to login to UAOnline immediately. After 48 hours a student ID number will be generated and you will then login using that number.
Paper Registrations :
- you can complete and sign a Registration form (76KB), then fax, scan into an email, mail or drop it by the Registrar's Office (Novatney Building, top floor)

You will have access to several resources by the day after you first register at UAS, including your official UA student email account and the online course site UASOnline! -retrieve your Username and setup your Password through ELMO
All official university correspondence will be sent to your UA student email account, so be sure to check it often or set forwarding to any commercial account you prefer.
Priority Registration
In general, only UAS degree-seeking students will be able to register in UAS courses during priority registration. However, program students affiliated with UAF programs in ECE (Early Childhood Education) or Geography are welcome to register for program courses offered through UAS during priority registration.
You should always meet with your Academic Advisor prior to registering for classes. To find out more about advising, visit the Academic Advising site.
Open Registration
All students are welcome to register during open registration.
Personal Information Changes
Update your current address and telephone number at UAOnline or the Registrar's Office to receive information from UAS in a timely manner.
Prerequisites For Courses
You are responsible for having met the prerequisites for the courses. Prerequisites are listed in individual course descriptions in this schedule. If you have not taken the necessary prerequisites but feel confident to perform the course work, you may request permission from the instructor of the course to enroll in the class, and have the instructor sign the registration form.
