Tuition and Fees Summer 2006

Financial Obligation for Summer

Tuition for summer classes must be received before classes begin, or at the time of your registration. Fee payment by cash, check, money order, or credit card is available at the Student Accounts office located in the bookstore on the Auke Lake campus. Payment by credit card is available via Web Registration (Visa or Mastercard only) at UAOnline by selecting “Login to Secured area” and follow the prompts. You can also fax payment information to the UAS Student Accounts office at 796-6006.

If you register and attend classes, the University holds you financially responsible.

  • Tuition does not include student fees or lab/material fees.
  • University policy requires a financial hold be placed on your record if you fail to meet your financial obligations. This hold will prevent any enrollment, transcript or graduation activity. Past due accounts will be sent to a collection agency and assessed collection costs. Interest, late fees, or collection costs must be paid before the financial hold will be removed.

UAS participates in the Juneau 4th of July parade. The Board of Regents of the University of Alaska approves all tuition and fees. The university reserves the right to change or add to its fees at any time. Fee assessments are subject to audit and correction, and any such adjustments will be made following the close of late registration. Students will be notified by mail of any adjustments.

Residency

For purposes of tuition, a resident is any person who has been physically present in Alaska for two years and who has declared their intention to remain in Alaska indefinitely. However, any persons who, within one year, have declared themselves to be residents of another state, voted in another state, or performed any act inconsistent with Alaska Residency shall be deemed as non-residents for purposes of non-resident tuition. Non-residents wishing to apply for residency may pick up an Application for Change of Residency Status form at the Records & Registration office or from the UAS forms page.

2006 Summer Tuition Schedule

The summer school budget is based on self-support budgeting. An additional course fee of $25 per undergraduate and graduate credit is assessed to meet expresses. The additional fee is included in the summer tuition listed below. The summer school course fee is refundable on the same percentage basis as tuition.
