Registration Info Summer 2008
The University of Alaska Southeast welcomes anyone who is interested in taking classes for the semester. If you are a continuing student pursuing a degree program, we encourage you to register early in order to reserve seating in the classes you need to progress toward graduation. If you are a new student, it’s also very important that you speak with an advisor well before classes begin in order to get registered early. For non-degree seeking students wanting to take one or more classes for personal enjoyment, feel free to register before classes begin.
Web Registration
Web registration is available for new students admitted to a degree program and returning students who have taken classes at UAS in the past 2 years. Registration for Summer 2008 begins April 7, 2008. Course registration and dropping on the web ceases on May 23, 2008 at 5:00 P.M.
- Plan your schedule before logging on to MyUA. Include alternate class choices, should your first choice be unavailable.
- Follow the procedures below:
- Log in to MyUA using your UA Username and password (you can set your password through Elmo).
- Select the student tab.
- Click on "Registration" in the UAOnline for students channel and follow the prompts.
- When you are finished, click "return to home page" to logout and protect your records.
- Be sure to drop any courses you decide not to take. You are responsible academically and financially for your registration activity.
Registration By Mail or Fax
Plan your schedule using either the online schedule or a printed schedule available at Juneau libraries, news racks and in campus facilities. Complete the Course Registration Form (PDF | 78KB). Please be sure to complete the entire registration form. For mail-in registration, enclose check, money order, or Visa,or Mastercard number and expiration date. Fax forms may include credit card number and expiration date.

Personal Information Changes
Update your current address, telephone number and email address at UAOnline or the Admissons & Records Office to receive information from UAS in a timely manner.
Use of Social Security Numbers
The University of Alaska assigns an 8-digit identification number for each student. Students are responsible for remembering the assigned number and using it in all future dealings with the University, including web access. (Please note: the University is still required to collect a valid social security number from each student for tax, employment and federal financial aid purposes.)
Course Schedule Changes
The course schedule is subject to change and is updated regularly on the UAS Website. Most classes in this schedule require minimum enrollment and students are encouraged to register early.
Prerequisites For Courses
You are responsible for having met the prerequisites for the courses. Prerequisites are listed in individual course descriptions in this schedule. If you have not taken the necessary prerequisites but feel confident to perform the course work, you may request permission from the instructor of the course to enroll in the class, and have the instructor sign the registration form. Junior or senior class standing is needed to enroll in 300 or 400 level classes.
Grades
Grades are accessible shortly after classes end through the UAOnline for students channel on the student tab MyUA. To obtain your grades, select the Student Records option. Note: Your grades will not be mailed to you.
Transcript Request
Official transcripts are $7 per copy for regular processing of 7-14 business days. For an additional $5 fee per order, we offer rush processing which is 1-3 business days. Please note that these time frames are for processing only, once transcripts are processed they are mailed via First Class Mail and we cannot guarantee delivery time.
For Express Mailing:
If you would like to have your transcripts mailed via Priority or Express Mail, the United States Post Office charges the following rates per address:
- Priority Mail 3-5 days: $4.60
- Express Mail 1-3 days: $16.25
This cost will be added to the transcript and rush fees.
As a service to students, the $7 fee will also include any UAF or UAA courses. Requests for transcripts from UAF and UAA will be forwarded to that campus via electronic mail. To request transcripts, you can visit the Admissions & Records office and fill out a Transcript Request Form (PDF | 67KB), or mail or fax it in.

Official transcripts may be ordered through the UAOnline for students channel on the studen ttab on MyUA.

- Click on Enrollment Verification
- Click on UAS Enrollment Verification / Offical Transcript Information
- Follow prompts to enter personal information, where transcripts will be sent and billing information
Official transcripts may also be ordered directly from the National Student Clearinghouse:

- Visit www.getmytranscript.com and select your school.
- Create your user ID/password and profile (saves your information for future orders).
- Let Transcript Ordering walk you through placing your order
- Fax signature page to the National Student Clearinghouse
- Check your email for updates on the status of your transcript order.
- Log onto www.getmytranscript.com (using the user ID/password you created) to obtain real-time status and history whenever you want.
Unoffical Transcripts
Unofficial transcripts can be obtained online through the UAOnline for students channel on the student tab of MyUA.
- Click on Student Records
- Click on Academic Transcript
- Select a transcript level (undergraduate, graduate, etc) and click on submit *Please note: if you have multiple levels you will need to repeat step 3 for each level.

Graduation
Diplomas are awarded in the summer, fall and spring semesters. Graduation applications and other important info can be found on the Commencement Website. The graduation application deadlines are:
- Spring: February 1st
- Summer: July 1st
- Fall: October 1st
Diplomas are mailed the month following the end of the semester (e.g. in January for fall graduates). A
commencement ceremony is held once a year in May.
